What’s your motivation for volunteering?

I find deeper happiness helping others. I am mostly inspired by the quote written by Booker T. Washington… which says “THOSE WHO ARE HAPPIEST ARE THOSE WHO DO MORE FOR OTHERS”

Describe your volunteering experience in November 2019 during the Vocational Skills Acquisition Program in Onne and Ikpokiri?

I see it as a duty I owe my company to ensure the vocational Skills Acquisition Programme is a huge success. I also find deeper happiness ensuring a good initiative of the Sahara Foundation is judiciously utilized to enhance the lives and expectations of the indigenes of our host communities. My first volunteer towards the Sahara Foundation Skills Acquisition Programme was in 2013, also in Onne & Ikpokiri Communities. In the cause of these efforts, I realize a lot of unprivileged Nigerians require such assistance from enabling organizations to improve societal livelihood.  Thanks to Sahara Foundation and Sahara Group in general.

What contribution or achievement are you most proud?

“Having to successfully build marketing skills & strategies to carry out Door2Door, Asha Lubs sales, supply chain management” with over 12 years of Admin /Procurement experience, without any formal training.

What other organizations or causes do you support or volunteer for?

  1. Youth Enlightenment Programmes in Eleme LGA of Rivers State
  2. Music Training and enhancement programmes/festivals in five (5) LGAs of Rivers State
  3. Brand Ambassador for Port Harcourt Region

Do you know about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? If yes, what do you think of them?

Yes.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is an initiative launched in September 2015 in a bid to localize the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals with the targets to end poverty, fight climate change, create descent jobs, improve education and health care access, peace, justice and ensure environmental sustainability.

What message would you like to share with others about volunteering?

Our country Nigeria is worth protecting. Our society will be a lot better if we imbibe the culture of helping and caring for one another, protection our environment, upholding peace and unity, helping to protect our health and educational system, etc.

“Together we shall build a great nation and a reliable society for us now and for our unborn generations”.
